Ricky Darren Metcalf, 47, of St. Johns, Michigan formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at his home in St. Johns.  Ricky was born on February 12, 1968 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Darrel Lee and Rita Kay (Caffery) Metcalf.

     Ricky enjoyed hanging out with his daughter’s, hunting and fishing.  He was employed as a truck driver for Schneider Trucking.  He also worked for the Isabella County Road Commission and Pat McGuirk. 

     Survivors include his children, Zackary Metcalf of Canadian Lakes, Megen and Brett Schiavo of St. Johns, Breann Metcalf of Canadian Lakes and Levi Metcalf of Big Rapids.  Also survived by a niece, Erika Metcalf and two nephews, Dylan Gillis and Chevy Gullion and several cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his mother, a sister and a brother.

         A memorial service celebrating Ricky’s life will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. from Rowley Funeral Home with Rev. Connie Bongard officiating.  Friends and family will gather at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of the service.  Memorial contributions have been suggested to St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store in St. Johns which helped Ricky several times.  Envelopes are available at the funeral home.  Interment of the cremated remains will be in Memorial Gardens, Mt. Pleasant, at a later date.
